WA: Black Swan lines up for State of Origin

The AFL has confirmed the return of ‘AFL Origin’. Western Australia will take on Victoria on Saturday February 14 at Optus Stadium

The state-based rivalry returns at the elite level for the first time in more than 25 years, having last been played in 1999 when Victoria played South Australia at the MCG.

The 2026 AAMI AFL Origin match will begin at 4.40pm AWST / 7.40pm AEDT.

Team jumpers and more players have been revealed for the upcoming return of AAMI AFL Origin, as Perth gears up to host the iconic event.

Team WA’s matchday player jumper, designed and made locally by Burley Sekem Bassendean, features the iconic black swan – a symbol of Western Australia – set against gold and black colours, paying homage to past AFL Origin designs.

More players have also been announced for both sides, with Kysaiah Pickett, Luke Jackson and Liam Baker representing WA and Max Gawn, Toby Greene and Tom Stewart playing for Victoria.
